Phase 2 of Community Conversations: 2022 – 2023

This page is about the second phase of Community Conversations: Pandemic Perspectives, NJ’s COVID-19 Storytelling Project. For more information about the first phase and stories gathered from August 2020 through March 2021, please visit Community Conversations - Phase 1

Community Conversations: Pandemic Perspectives, NJ’s COVID-19 Storytelling Project documents the personal accounts, experiences, and perspectives of NJ residents during the COVID-19 pandemic, especially from communities who have faced disproportionate impacts of the pandemic or are often left out of conversations about public health.

Through storytelling, resident perspectives and guidance can become the building blocks of a more resilient, compassionate, and healthy New Jersey. The project is coordinated by the NJ YMCA State Alliance in collaboration with the NJ Department of Health.

*Important Information on Consent

The participant sharing their story – or yourself if you are sharing your own story – must provide consent to participate and share their story. Consent and release forms for both adult and minor participants will be included within the Qualtrics survey platform, and must be confirmed as agreed to by the participant or their parent/legal guardian before submitting any uploads. Participants may read the consent form themselves, or the facilitator may read the form aloud to participants (or a parent/legal guardian if the participant is a minor), to confirm their agreement. Please note that without appropriate consent obtained, storytelling submissions may not be included within the project.
