Message from the CEO - March 2026 Alliance Newsletter

March 26, 2026

Dear Friends of the New Jersey YMCA State Alliance.

Spring is here—a season of renewal, growth, and new possibilities—and across New Jersey, the YMCA continues to be inspired by the impact we’re making together in communities large and small.

As everything begins to bloom, it’s a perfect time to try something new. Whether it’s building confidence in the water, strengthening your health, or connecting with others, your local YMCA is here to support you every step of the way.

Across all 82 YMCAs in New Jersey, families and individuals can register for swim lessons and get ready to safely enjoy the summer season. For those looking to make a difference, 17 YMCAs offer lifeguard certification programs—an opportunity to gain valuable skills while serving your community.

Our Ys are also deeply committed to supporting health and well-being through programs that address chronic diseases, including Diabetes Prevention, Multiple Sclerosis support, LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA for cancer survivors, and Parkinson’s disease programs.

Beyond health, seven YMCAs are helping to meet essential needs through food distribution initiatives, while others offer diverse abilities programming, teen engagement opportunities throughout the school year and summer, and meaningful ways to give back through volunteer opportunities at seven local Ys. Additionally, nine YMCAs proudly serve those who have served us, offering programs specifically for veterans.

This spring, we invite you to explore all that the YMCA has to offer and discover new ways to get involved, stay healthy, and build connections. To learn more and find programs near you, visit www.njymca.org
