From Care to Community: NJ Ys Support Alzheimer’s & Parkinson’s Care - October 2025 Newsletter

New Jersey Ys continue to demonstrate remarkable commitment to outreach and mission-driven work by supporting individuals and families affected by Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease. As life expectancy increases, more members of our communities are in need of specialized programming and Ys across the state are stepping up to meet that need with compassion and expertise.

Every New Jersey Y offers not only safe, welcoming, and engaging spaces for participants, but also meaningful support for their caregivers. This dual focus reflects the Y’s holistic approach to strengthening community.

This summer, we are proud to highlight the Ridgewood and West Morris Ys for their robust Parkinson’s programs, as well as the Gateway and Greater Somerset Ys for their innovative Alzheimer’s initiatives. In addition, the Alliance is excited to welcome a new statewide partner, the Alzheimer’s Association of New Jersey, who will work alongside our local Ys to expand and deepen this critical outreach.
