Message from the CEO - December 2025 Newsletter

December 16, 2025

Dear Friends of the New Jersey YMCA State Alliance,

As 2025 comes to an end, I find myself reflecting on the collective impact made this year by the 30 YMCA associations and 82 branches serving communities across New Jersey. Together, we have advanced the Y’s mission in meaningful and measurable ways.

Throughout the year, thousands of children attended YMCA camps, afterschool programs, and nursery programs—meeting new friends, building new skills, and gaining confidence in safe and caring environments. Thousands more participated in swim lessons to learn critical water safety skills, many benefiting from the generosity of financial assistance.

Adults across the state had opportunities to exercise at their own pace, improve their health, and strengthen their well-being. More than 400 teens engaged in the New Jersey State Youth and Government program, participating in a mock legislative process that built leadership skills and encouraged thoughtful advocacy. They learned to hear differing perspectives and debate issues with respect and civility.

At every YMCA in New Jersey, members of all ages had opportunities to connect with one another, helping to reduce the growing epidemic of isolation and loneliness in our country.

This year concluded with the success of the 12th annual Culture of Health Conference, where community partners shared their expertise and highlighted work aligned with the Seven Vital Conditions for Health and Well-Being popularized by the Rippel Foundation.

As we look ahead to 2026, I remain inspired by the dedication of the NJ YMCA coalition and our community partners, who continue to provide programs and services that positively impact the people who live and work in New Jersey.

Wishing you and your family a joyous, healthy, and peaceful holiday season.
