Meet the New CEO of the Meadowlands YMCA, Lynne Algrant - December 2025 Newsletter

We are delighted to welcome Lynne Harwell Algrant as the new President and CEO of the Meadowlands YMCA, effective this December. Lynne brings passion for community impact and a deep commitment to strengthening social support that connect families, individuals, and neighbors across the region.

Lynne arrives at the Meadowlands YMCA after a rich and varied career spanning nonprofit leadership, community development, and civic engagement. Most recently, she served in senior leadership with Greater Bergen Community Action, Inc. (GBCA), where she played a key role in advancing anti-poverty initiatives and supporting anchor institutions that serve as critical parts of the social safety net.

Before her work at GBCA, Lynne led the Bergen Volunteer Center, where she helped expand volunteer engagement and strengthen community partnerships. Her leadership in Bergen County has also included public service, including time as an elected Councilmember and Council President for the City of Englewood.

Her blend of strategic leadership experience, nonprofit expertise, and commitment to community empowerment will guide the Meadowlands YMCA as it grows its programs from traditional YMCA services to initiatives like family success supports, early childhood education, and community food access.
