Nestled on the picturesque shores of Lake Kanawauke in Harriman State Park, New York, Camp Michikamau offers a rich legacy of over 100 years in providing a memorable sleepaway camp experience. The camp’s program is thoughtfully designed to strike a perfect balance between structured cabin group activities and individual choice pursuits. During the first week, campers follow a fixed schedule that allows them to sample various activity areas within the camp and partake in daily swimming lessons. The second week, aptly named “choice week,” empowers campers to select their preferred activity areas. Beyond the structured activities, Camp Michikamau offers a daily open leisure time where campers can engage in a range of activities such as boating, swimming, sports at the complex, shopping at the camp store, or simply unwinding with friends. Each evening, after dinner, campers gather for a variety of camp activities including casino night, dances, scavenger hunts, talent shows, and campfires, fostering camaraderie and fun.

Camp Ockanickon, established in 1906, is a traditional overnight camp for boys ages 6–16 that blends camp traditions with an elaborate gamified character program designed to help campers grow into the best version of themselves. Through choice-based programming, campers build confidence, independence, and responsibility while skill-building. Ockanickon offers both one- and two-week sessions, along with Mini Camp, wilderness trips, and a Counselor-in-Training program.

Through choice-based programming, girls explore activities that build confidence, creativity, independence, and leadership while forming strong friendships. Matollionequay offers one- and two-week sessions, along with Mini Camp, wilderness trips, and a Counselor-in-Training program. Rooted in tradition and growth, Camp Matollionequay is a place where girls are challenged, supported, and celebrated.

Lake in the Woods YMCA Camps is where summer adventure meets the comfort of home. Located on the beautiful, modern campus of Blair Academy, this unique overnight camp offers a Monday–Friday experience with campers going home on the weekends. With dorm-style housing, inspiring spaces to learn and play, and free transportation included, campers enjoy the best of both worlds. Each week is filled with classic camp activities alongside specialties like theatre, ceramics, and more—building confidence, creativity, and memories that grow stronger all summer long.

We are proud to have our camps accredited by the American Camp Association, which means that we care enough to undergo a thorough (up to 300 standards) review of our operation — from staff qualifications and training to emergency management. American Camp Association collaborates with experts from the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Red Cross, and other youth-serving agencies to ensure that current practices at our camp reflect the most up-to-date, research-based standards in camp operation. Camps and ACA form a partnership that promotes growth and fun in an environment committed to safety.
