Mental Health First Aid

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a groundbreaking, evidence-based, public education program. MHFA teaches the public how to recognize symptoms of mental health problems, how to offer and provide initial help, and how to guide a person toward appropriate treatments and other supportive help.

The aims of MHFA are to

  1. Preserve life when a person may be a danger to self or others
  2. Provide help to prevent the problem from becoming more serious
  3. To promote and enhance recovery
  4. Provide comfort and support
