Timothy Weidman

Timothy Weidman, an Alliance Partner Associate, has 44 years of experience as a YMCA professional. He retired from the YMCA after 40 years and has since served as a consultant in the areas of finance, operations, cost study, PPP, and ERTC support.

During his career, Weidman was the CEO of the Summit Area YMCA and Resource Director for the YMCA of the USA. After retirement, he became Interim CEO of the YMCA of Montclair and served stints as CFOs at the Summit Area YMCA and Meadowlands Area YMCA.

Weidman launched a Black Achievers program in 1992 for students in grades 8-12, with a goal of all participating students graduating from high school and going on to post-secondary education. The Summit Area YMCA program included tutoring, mentoring, SAT preparation, college tours, internships with local corporations, and college scholarships. More than 100 students participated in the program each year and it had a 99 percent graduation rate with the students moving on to college.

While Weidman was at the YMCA, donors contributed a total of $20 million to the Summit Y and he oversaw an $8 million facility expansion there during his tenure. He increased YMCA membership from 2,700 in 1988 to more than 18,500 in 2007 with membership from 37 percent of the City of Summit’s residents.

He helped raise $5 million in direct gifts for the YMCA’s endowment. Weidman brought three branch operations online, including Berkeley Heights in 1995, Springfield in 1998, and the Learning Circle Child Care Center in 2005.

Weidman is also an active community leader. As CEO, he represented the Summit Area Y on the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, the Overlook Hospital Community Health Committee, as well as several City of Summit committees, including Youth Program, Diversity, Senior Citizen/New Providence Rotary Club Board of Directors, Centennial Parade, and the Heritage Festival.
