Nestled on the picturesque shores of Lake Kanawauke in Harriman State Park, New York, Camp Michikamau offers a rich legacy of over 100 years in providing a memorable sleepaway camp experience. The camp’s program is thoughtfully designed to strike a perfect balance between structured cabin group activities and individual choice pursuits. During the first week, campers follow a fixed schedule that allows them to sample various activity areas within the camp and partake in daily swimming lessons. We are proud to have our camps accredited by the American Camp Association, which means that we care enough to undergo a thorough (up to 300 standards) review of our operation — from staff qualifications and training to emergency management. American Camp Association collaborates with experts from the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Red Cross, and other youth-serving agencies to assure that current practices at our camp reflect the most up-to-date, research-based standards in camp operation. Camps and ACA form a partnership that promotes growth and fun in an environment committed to safety.
