Nestle Start Healthy Stay Healthy

Home

Start Healthy, Stay Healthy is a U.S. program of Nestlé for Healthier Kids. It is an educational program that provides childhood nutrition guidance for the first 1,000 days. Stemming from a collaboration between Nestlé, the YMCA and Rutgers University, the program includes six training modules that teach participating families evidence-based practices to ensure the health and nutrition of young children. Families that complete the training graduate and become mentors to families who have newly entered the program. The program has been piloted with over 150 families in Greater Newark by Rutgers University-Newark’s Office of University-Community Partnerships (OUCP) and has expanded statewide to five YMCA sites in New Jersey in 2018 including:

  • YMCA of Newark and Vicinity
  • Cumberland Cape May YMCA
  • Hunterdon County YMCA
  • Madison Area YMCA
  • Raritan Bay Area YMCA

The public-private partnership combines Nestlé’s industry-leading innovation with the YMCA’s deep community ties to provide opportunities for dynamic, ongoing engagement with families and children about health and nutrition.
